I am a fellow genealogist and I also volunteer for our local Friends of the Library organization. We operate an on-going used booksale to raise funds for the public library. We receive box loads of donated books to sell each year. Among these, I sometimes find books that might prove a valuable treasure to a family historian. I asked and received permission to try to find suitable homes for these books, instead of simply selling them locally to collectors or book dealers who will, in turn, resell them for profit. All we ask in exchange is a donation (of any amount you believe fitting) to our organization. If you are interested in the following, please contact me and I will be happy to supply you with further details. I would like to see books such as this one get into the hands of family historians who will treasure them.

School textbook inscribed by Maggie Edmondson, A. Class J. H. S. Someone also wrote in the date 1853, though I think she owned it later than this.
