I am a new lister, here is my interest;
WILLIAM KIRTON born about 1851 Cambs (according to 1881 Census)
married 1872 Islington, London to Ellen Senior (1852-1958 - yes 106 years old!)
Children: Louise born abt 1873, Harry born abt 1876, Alexander William born 4/8/1877 in St.Pancras(my great grandfather of whom I have most details with descendents), Charles born abt 1880.
WILLIAM KIRTON above;
IGI Cambs there is only one possible; 1849 baptised William Kirton,Manea, parents John Curtin and Mary Wright. This would mean that William had guessed his age on 1881 Census.
BMD records at FRC there are two possible William Kirtons;
April-June 1849 William, N Witchford
Jan-March 1851 William, N Witchford
Manea Parish Records - Birth William Kirton - parents Robert(labourer) & Elizabeth is only possible one. I have yet to check other parish records.
Even if I purchased the two birth certificates they would not tell me if it was the right William.
Is anyone else researching Kirton from Cambridgeshire?
If so I would like to correspond. Thank you.
