I have a friend who I`m 99% sure has a Balls in his line (Not saying they
are the same family as you)
And
Just in case you didn`t already know there is an Ives Road in Norwich. At
City Hall in Norwich there is a huge list of previous Lord Mayors of Norwich
and im pretty sure that the name Ives appears. I would therefore guess that
is where the naming of the road comes from.

Is any of this any good to you? If so I can look a bit more into it.

Two recent emails have referred to these surnames in Norwich and guess what
- I am distantly linked to each of them!
Samuel Balls married Mary Boughton my gtx3 aunt on 10th May 1812 at St.
Simon and St Jude, Norwich
Robert Hanworth Ives married Rhoda Alice Parker my gtx2 aunt on 23rd
December 1875, Norwich

and Rootsweb have just mentioned that a surname listing for Varden has just
been started.........my grandmothers step-sister married a John Thomas
Varden.
Now beat that.
