Hi everyone,
According to the 1850 Estill County Census & 1860 Owsley Co. Census,
William Ingram and Mary Hoover had the following children before they
divorced:
Elizabeth was born abt. 1846 in Estill Co. She appears with the family on
1850 and 1860 censuses, but is not seen after that.
Daniel was born about 1848 in Estill Co. He appears with the family on
1850 and 1860 censuses. There is a Daniel Ingram on 1870 & 1880 Jackson
Co. Censuses and 1900 Lee Co. Census who appears to be the same Daniel. If
this is true, he married a woman by the name of Catherine.
Dianah was born 04 Sep 1849 in Estill Co. and died 17 Feb 1930 in Estill
Co. She married Lewis Sparks. They are buried in the Sparks Cem. in
Leighton.
Arie was born about 1853. I'm not sure if it was in Estill or Owsley. She
appears with her family on the 1860 Owsley Co. Census, but I'd not found
her after that.
Hardin was born about 1855 in Owsley Co. He appears on the 1860 Owsley Co.
Census and the 1870 Estill Co. Census with his mother. He also appears on
the 1880 Estill Co. Census with his wife, father-in-law and sister in law.
He married Tabitha Barnes (aka Tabitha Arvin) in Estill Co.
Rachel was born about 1860 in Owsley Co. She appears on the 1870 Estill
Co. Census with her mother. She also appears on the 1880 Estill Co. Census
living with her new husband at her sister's, Dianah, home. She married
William Morris in Estill Co. on 13 May 1880.
Today while looking at the 1880 Annotated Lee Co. census, I found the
household of Charles Griffin, age 37. He was listed with his wife Ara
who's maiden name was listed as Ingram. Her age was given as 29, but we
all know how that goes <grin> The annotation states she was possibly the
daughter of Hardin Ingram, but Hardin had no child named Ara. It also
states they were married about 1870.
Is there anyone out there who can help me place this Ara Ingram? I believe
her to be the same as Arie, d/o William and Mary Hoover Ingram.
Also, does anyone know what happened to Elizabeth, born about 1846?
Thanks so much for help in advance!
Jen
