Does anyone know how they managed this sort of thing back then? If they
stopped somewhere in KY for Mollie's birth, and immediately moved on, would
they have waited to file any birth information until they got to IN? Or did
it have to be done in the same location where she was born? Since I don't
know how long they stayed, I'm not sure which state to look at, and in 1856,
I'm not sure if there were birth records in either place at that time (but
surely there were), or if there were any laws stating where it had to be
recorded. Should I look in her actual place of birth or in her future home
state?
