Benjamin Paxton Ewell, Grandson of Dennis Ewell, was my Great Grandfather on my mother's side of my family.
I found a death record for Elizabeth Keeling in an abstract of PA County death records compiled by Melinda Jones Lukei that lists her Parents as Thomas and Frances Keeling but lists her husband as John Ewell.
Wingo's Marriages of PA County gives the marriage date for Thomas Keeling and Frances Broughton as 07 Sep 1805, lists her Father as Charles Broughton and says the brides stated her age as 26. John Keeling was listed as providing surety for the marriage.
There is another interesting entry in Lukei's work for a Solomon Ewell, died in 1858, age 16, parrents listed as John and Elizabeth Ewell. There are also two enteries in her marriage abstract for a Charles Ewell that lists his paarents as John and Elizabeth Ewell. May be different people but it bears more investigating. I am begining to wonder if Dennis Ewell also went by John or if one or the other was a middle name.
There is also a death listing for a John Ewell in Lukei's work for 1873 but I have seen Dennis's death date listed as 1886 but I do not know the source for that.
Both Lukei and Wingo's works are available in the Sergeant Memorial Reading Room of the Kern Memorial Libray in Norfolk Va.
The Mormon's in their International Genalogical Index list parents for Frances Broughton as Charles Broughton and Elizabeth Greene as do a website devoted to Broughton Family Genealogy.
As for Thomas Keeling, I am still looking myself.
