Hi Pat, if you have other land lot issues for Decatur County, you may
find this advice useful. I recently contacted the tax office and
found that for about $5, they will mail you a large foldout map of the
county as divided into districts and lots. This has really helped me
in my research. The only drawback is that is does not show the areas
that used to be Decatur County, but now have been split off into
Grady, Seminole, etc.

You are lucky to have an early will for your Fain ancestor. My Martin
Rich died in 1830 and there was no will and no probate file that I
have been able to locate. Did you find this will at the GA Archives?
I know that Will Book A is missing.

One other note - I am researching the Fenn/Fann name from Early and
Decatur counties. For a while I wondered if Fain was just a spelling
variant, but have decided (so far) there is no connection. Best of
luck with your research!
