I transcribed this from the a copy of the book at the
Washington Memorial Library, Genealogy Room, Macon, Georgia.

Attapulgus, Decatur County:

Located about 5 miles north of the Florida line, 12 southeast of
Bainbridge, county seat, bank, espress and telegraph office, 4 to
Avirett, S.F. & W. Ry., shipping station, and 304 from Atlanta. Has
Presbyterian, white and colored Methodist and Colored Baptist
churches. Cotton and lumber are the shipments. Mail tri-weekly.
