Sandra,
Depending on the time of day, you may want to go straight through Atlanta on I-85, and
exit at Pleasant Hill Road. Go right on Pleasant Hill Road from the exit ramp. I'm not
sure of the distance, but you'll cross over the Club Drive intersection. Just before you
reach Cruse Road, you'll see Sweetwater Chapel on the left, with the cemetery beside it.
The Landers house is behind the cemetery, but it's all boarded up and fenced now,
surrounded by commercial and housing developments. Here are some photos:

>From Sweetwater, you can take a left on Pleasant Hill Road, going east (opposite from the
direction of I-85). Traffic is awful, so be careful!
Pleasant Hill Road sort of dead ends at Highway 29 (Lawrenceville Highway). If you cross
over, it becomes Lester Road. Turn left on Lawrenceville Highway, and go into
Lawrenceville. It's about 7 miles to the center of Lawrenceville.
To go to the Gwinnett Justice Center, turn right on Langley, just as you are coming into
town.
The Gwinnett Historical Society houses most of the old documents and papers, and it is
located in the old Gwinnett Courthouse in the square of Lawrenceville (coming from the
Justice Ctr, you'll turn right on Hwy 29, which becomes Crogan St in town). It's manned
by volunteers, so be sure to check times. http://www.gwinnetths.org/ .
Local Gwinnett libraries have most of the published histories of Gwinnett County. You'll
pass one library on your left as you are approaching Lawrenceville on Hwy 29.
Unfortunately, none of the public libraries have a genealogy/history room.
If you have time, you may want to visit the Georgia Archives in Morrow (south of Atlanta).
Here are addresses and phone numbers and a little info for visitors:

Good luck to you!
