Even I realized that the book has the family scrambled. I was hoping it
would be a starting point to find out which Thomas is mine. I am sure that
he is the one who married Salathia Kinsey (that was my grandmother's
spelling of her name, and I found her obituary so I know that she died in/of
Talbot Co, GA in 1852). My Thomas and family seem to be the ones in the
1830 Census of Hancock Co as that matches the 1840 Census of Talbot Co. The
Census (if correct) puts his birthdate no later than 1790 and hers before
1800 (though she got younger between 1830 and 1840), and the marriage in
1811 fits these birthdates. I haven't found out when Thomas died.

This looks like my Thomas may have been Michael's son after all. My
ancestor was his daughter, Epsey Dixon (born abt 1822), who married William
Spear in Talbot Co in 1840. Thomas seems to have had five sons and five
daughters. From Talbot Co marriage and other information, I think one son
was probably named Stephen (he married Frances Heath), and three of the
other daughters were probably Martha (married Eldridge Adams -- she had a
child listed on the 1850 Census of Talbot Co as Solathiel and five others),
Areannah (married John Heath), and Salatha D. T. (married William Heath).
I'm still looking for the others.

Do you have any more on Michael's family that would prove or disprove the
relatiionship?
I found the will abstract of Hugh Barnette in a book on Person Co, NC. It
names a daughter as Margaret Dixon, son-in-law Michael Dixon, and grandson
John Barnett Dickson. Of course, Michael could have been married twice.
Thank you for your information.
