State of Georgia
This Indenture made this 27th day of October, in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety six and in the twentieth year of American
Independence Between Solomon Barfield of Hancock County & State aforesaid of
the one part and William W. Barfield of Warren County and State aforesaid of
the other part. Witnesseth that the said Solomon Barfield for and in
Consideration of the Sum of one Hundred and fifty pounds current money to him
in hand paid by the sd. William W. Barfield, at the sealing and Delivery of
these presents hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth transfer &
sell unto the sd. Wm. Barfield, a tract of land lying and Situate on Harts[?]
Creek in the County of Warren & State aforesaid, Beginning at a black Oak to a
Hickory, thence to a B. Oak thence to a post Oak, thence to a lightwood Stump,
thence to a Stake Corner, from thence to a black Jack Corner, thence N.15E. 30
to a Stake Corner, thence S.75E. 22.37 to a pine corner thence N.15E. 44.72 to
a Hickory Corner, thence N.75W. 22.37 to a black oak Corner thence to a pine
Corner thence to the Beginning, Containing three hundred acres the same being
more or less to have and to hold the said tract of land with all and Singular
the appurtenances, thereunto belonging & the said Solomon Barfield for himself
and his Heirs forever the aforesaid tract or parcel of land unto the said
William Barfield his Heirs & Assigns forever against all Claims & demands
whatsoever doth warrant and defend. In Witness whereof he hath hereunto Set
his hand & Seal the day and year above written.
