I was wondering if you could send me any addtional information on
Susannah Cole, daughter of John Cole b 1709 near Roanoke VA d 1784 and Aggie Rayburn b SC b 1713 d 1784 Note: She was first married to Thomas Wells b 1699 VA 1755 Lunenburg Co VA They had a son, Lewis Wells, b 1750 WB Gamblin was her second husband M abt 1735 Amelia VA
They had seven children: Sarah, Mary, Keziah, (b 1771 NC), Martha, John, Joshua Young Gamblin, Sion (b 1777 Chatham Co NC)
I have definitely traced to William Bradford Gamblin
Married to Susannah Cole..
I came to a dead end on 3rd and 4th Great Grandfathers.
My Great grandfather was John P Gamblin of Pacific Junction Iowa.
Showing his family came from {Scotland} SO I took the
the approach to trace thru Susannah Cole. But there is
also a family of Gamblins from the {England}
One theory is a William Gamblin Sr came to America as an indentured servant from England. There is a Gamblin line in eastern Canada, that came from England, they married into the Seymour family and can trace their lines to Jane Seymour one of the wives of King Henry VIII
2nd theory we are related to Robert the Bruce from Scotland.
Where I came to a dead-end I was looking for a Joshua Gamblin Married to a Louisa that died in 1932 in Alabama.
and happened upon information about the tornado in Alabama wwhere over 300 people were killed not all accounted for.
I also have some information on a Mary Gamblin who had her
baby baptised in the Church of the Lather Day Saints but
listed Father unknown in Iowa...Can you shed some light on this?
The Thomas Cole( England ) line seems just too easy :)
Thanks in Advance
