I am trying to find the mother of my 3rd Great-Grandfather, Lewis Monroe
Garner (Abt 1826). Here's what I have:
Lewis was the eldest son of Anson Garner. Anson Garner was born around 1802
in North Carolina, migrated through Tennessee and finally settled in Perry
Co, Missouri where he last shows up in the 1870 Census.
I'm trying to somehow prove that the wife of Anson and the mother of Lewis
was a Drucella Abernathy. There is a female listed in the 1840 Census of
about the correct age to be Anson's wife, however the 1840 Census only list
the head of household by name. In the 1850 Census, there is no female
listed that could be the age of Anson's wife, but there is a 5 year old
child, Robert Garner. This would lead me to believe that Anson's wife would
have passed away sometime between 1845 and 1850.
Does anyone out there have any advise how I might find out if a Drucella
(Abernathy) Garner passed away in Perry Co, Missouri, between 1845-1850?
There were quite a few Abernathy's from North Carolina that settled in Perry
Co as well as my Garners. My Lewis Garner's 2nd wife was a Willy N.
Abernathy and she remarried an Albert G. Abernathy after Lewis had passed
away.
If I'm barking up the wrong tree, then any advice how I might prove who the
wife of Anson Garner was would be most appreciated.
