Subject: [GenSmarts] sort to do list
I have Version 1.0910. Is that the latest?
Before I upgraded to this version, I was working my way through the To Do
list which mostly concerned the 1880 census. After the upgrade, the To Do
list
begins with at least 1000 suggestions to search the Social Security Death
Index. This has proven to be very unproductive and frustrating and has not
yielded a lot of new information. Many of the suggestions are for people
whose
birth dates and death dates and places I already have, finding them in the
SSDI
would not reveal new info. On a lot of others, I have not found them I
suspect
because they were farmers and didn't need a Social Security number until
the
60's or 70's (forget just when that changed.) Anyway, I have gone through
enough of them to decide it is not very useful to do name after name in the
SSDI, plus is boring byond belief.
I decided to sort the To Do list by surname. This is much more interesting
a
productive, because it groups all the suggestions for a particular person
in
one place and I am adding a lot of new information to my database.
Apparently the default sort is "By Research Priority." Is there a way to
change the default sort to "Surname?"
