Hi Ray,
I wanted to enquire about Elizabeth GARBER, her father Daniel GARBER, and her spouse William KECK. First KECK is a relatively infrequent Swiss Mennonite name. My 2g grandmother was Magdalena KECK b 1801, possibly a sister to William, and she was d/o Conrad KECK (1772 - 1843) and Mary TROYER (1788 - 1843).
Unlike most of the other nine children of Johannes GERBER d 1777 Berks Co., PA, my cousins discovered that the first child John GERBER did not have Amish descendants. John GERBER had a son Daniel born about the same time as yours, but the dates don't match up. I also have a Daniel GERBER s/o Christian GERBER (eighth child of Johannes) but the dates don't quite match up either.
I have added to my database more than 15 other GERBER or GARBER families. Among them there is a Daniel GERBER b 1800. who was s/o Henry GERBER (1769-1835) and Mary Magdalena DIETRICH. I have this Daniel's wife as Catherine ARNER (1801-1869). I am interested in GERBERs or GARBERs in Nothumberland, Juniata, and Perry Counties.
