Normally, precise dates are required. Rarely, an archivist will search in a
particular year, but not beyond it. You can inquire of the Stadtverwaltung
at 65795 Hattersheim, which has administrative control over Eddersheim. The
wedding certificate MAY list names beyond the couple - you'll just have to
inquire.

I am hoping that someone will be able to help me - my great grandparents
married in Eddersheim in about 1904, his name was Ernest Gibbons and her
name was Maria Flettner.
Is there any way that I can trace this wedding (I live in England) and what
sort of information can I expect to find on a German certificate.
