I am also interested in receiving maps of 'Central Europe 1786". I am still looking for place of birth of John/Johann Meisinger son of Joseph Meisinger and Catherine Schmidtbauer who was born in southern Bavaria in 1814. I am sure the names of the cities, town, villages have changed. John arrived in the port of NY on July 18, 1854 and married Anna Gruber on July 31, 1854 at St. Michael's RC Church. Still haven't found place of origin in Bavaria.

Joanne and everyone who is interested,
I just found maps of "Germany after the war 1618-1648" and of the time of
the German Confederation in a history book. Furthermore, I have two old maps
I once fond on the internet. They are called "Central Europe 1786" and "ganz
German Empire 1871 - 1918". These maps will help you to locate the smaller
German states.
I'll send them to everyone who is interested. I don't think it is necessary
to send them to all members of the list because it's about 5 MB.
Send me an email and I'll send you the maps :-)
Have a nice day! Myri
