Subject: [G-P-L] Meaning of some German language?
Date: Thu, 7 Jun 2007 12:47:19 -0700
Hi,
I don't know if this would be the correct question for this site...any way I have some things translated from German and wondered if someone could explain meanings of a few words.
1."equipped with 200 Reichstalern"...assuming this is money, what would the value be in US $$?
2."Commerzianten Ferdinand William"...assuming this is a political or religious position, what would it be comparable to USA?
3. "I will in the church books of Glane as a daughter of the Johann Bernhard Tiemann and his wife Maria Josephine small-beautiful-swot -to be found to have."....is this a description of the daughter and if so what does Swot mean?
4. "to become born 1821 in the Kirchspiel Glandorf,"...what is the Kirchspiel?
Hoping someone can help on this...Thanks~Gayla
