Hello Gail,

When you have all personal information in your files, as have many
you obviously do not want any of that being sold to researchers.
If you have all your data, as do many, in their family trees then
they do not want being taken by companies for their purposes
as they do unless you put blockers on them.

For example if you have Family Tree Maker and it asks for to research
on line to see if there are any people known that will link into
your tree. To do this they read your Family Trees and store it
and the use it for their benefits.

Not everyone is a good as you are leaving certain details out when
researching. But we cannot all look the other way at what we do, when
we see the pitfalls that others may slip into without being polite and
giving out the warnings needed.
