My ancestor, Peter Ginther, whose parents migrated apparently from
Swartswold, in the Black Forest of Germany was born in Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania in 1740. His parents are recorded as Peter Ginther and wife
Susanna Ros. Both "from Germany". The Ginther family later migrated to
Gnadenhutten, Ohio.
Are there any records that would show Peter and wife Susanna on a ship? One
record apparently shows a Peter Ginther with brothers, John Casper and
George who came over on the ship, Thistle in 1738. But there was a Peter
Ginther recorded as being in the Oley Mountains, Berks County, Pennsylvania
as early as 1732.
Thanks for the help.
Diane Elder
