Flora,
Googling River Sieg gives a few results. I did not have time to look for a
map; one was not forthcoming easily. :-) I saw references to it flowing
into the Rhine and being located in Westphalia. It is also referenced on
the Bonn website. Not much but at least a flavor of what is out there..

Subject: [G-P-L] Julius Beske
Hi,
I am still looking for the place of birth of my great grandfather
Julius Beske. The information that I have been able to put together so
far is:
1. His marriage license in Peru Il states that he is from Carliss
2. His children were in an orphanage in Chicago states that he is from
Collis
3. In the private translated letters they talk about how he were to
come back he wouldn't recognize Kallie
4. In the 1910 letter they talk of a sister Louise who lives in
Arnswalde. She is married with some children. The letter also states
that mother lives with Bertha who is married to Johann. I assume that
Bertha is a sister to Julius.
5. In the 1923 letter Pa's brother's children (Pa being Julius I
believe) are:
Anna b abt 1878 married with 5 children
Herman b abt 1881 married 3 children
John b abt 1883 married 2 children
Carl b abt 1885 married 3 children
Bertha no age given... married for 3 yrs, no children
Fritz b abt 1902 not married
Pa's brother b abt 1857
6. I have a drawing of Grandmother's house and on it is the drawing of
the "river sieg". Does anyone know where the river sieg is located???
I have found that there is a Collis in Gera. Thuringa. Germany
There is a Kallies county/kreis Dramburg in what is now known as
Kalisz Poland
I know that this is a lot of information, but I'm trying to put it all
together to see what it all means Hoping that the information may have
clues as to where to look for Julius Beske came from.

Looking for Nolde/Nolte... Beske
