I'm not sure if anyone else came over with him. He is the only one
listed on that ship. I did notice that the name above his stated that
he was going to MO to and they were near the same age. I thought
friend maybe? But haven't made any connection there. In one of the
letters the mother stated that a Hermann sent some money back, but
don't know if it's a brother or not. I did find a Herman Beske in Cook
county and have been trying to figure out if there is a connection or
not. I've read (I think it was on this list) that if you could find
the record in Germany where he applied to leave, it might have
information on that paper. Would I check with Bremen? As far as the
marriage, I only have found the index and it doesn't say where they
were married. I do know that they were protestant. I'm going to see if
there is a website for LaSalle county now.
But other than that, you have given me some more suggestions that I
can look into.
