Perhaps, too, you can find your Julius in city directories. Directories are frequently used, in part, as "1890 Census" substitutes, though they don't list the kids and some don't even list the wife.

Check ancestry.com, look online at public or state libraries or in person, check historical & genealogical societies' websites or in person.
