Can anyone tell me how Whitten would be pro-nounced in Germany? Is it
Whit-Ten, Whit-Teen,
Whit-Ting or ???? My great grandmother listed her mother's maiden name as
Whiting but I
have spent ten years looking for any possible Whiting connection but found
none. Since the
family was German, My great grandmother was only five when her mother died
so I am thinking
that Whiting is what she thought she heard but maybe the name was Whitten.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
