Does anyone have any information that would tie the name Ghere or Gher to
Geyer. The earliest Gher that I have on my tree is that of David Gher who
married Sarah Tyson in Pa. -- David was born on May 26, 1801 in Dauphin Cty
Pa. Sarah was born Oct 28, 1801. They were married in Carlisle in Cumberland
Cty., Pa on Jan 24, 1822. They later moved to Indiana in the 1830's. Prior to
David I have no leads but am thinking that the name spelling may have gotten
changed. I have a lot of info in the generations after David if anyone is
interested.
Any help would be appreciated.
