Dear Pat and Jim: This is "reaching for it" but there may be some
connection...

My grandmother's older brother, born Peoria ,Illinois, 1841, was named John
Bailey Gifford. He married Louisa Johnson. The similarity of the Gifford and
Bailey names made me wonder if there was a connection. I have not been able
to find out what happened to John, although I have traced most of the other
10 children. My Great grandmother was Miriam Bailey and Great Grandfather
William Gifford. If you think there is a connection, let me know and we can
