Hi Dorothy
I was researching and I saw your message on Canadian Giffords. I also am trying to trace this side of my family.
My g-g-grandmother was Jane Sophia Gifford who married Henry Middleton in Clarke Township, (Newcastle) Ontario.
Her father was Ezra and his father was Humphry Gifford and their line goes back to the Gifford's from Sandwich Massachusetts. Does your family of Giffords go in this direction.
