Almon Daniels was a distant relative and contacted my two aunts and copied some of his info from the Gifford family Bible, which was in the possession of Mary F. Cole, my father's sister. I don't have the parents of Capt. John Gifford. That is where I'm stuck. I do have his family bible. However, it starts with him and his wife, Ruth Wilcox. I have some Gedcom files on her which I copied at the local family history center. I have not downloaded them into my PAF program, due to ill health. However I have a used laptop PC which I bought last week. Have to go and get some instructions on how to use it as I'm a Mac person. As soon as I learn to use the laptop, some of the members of the local PC club will help my download the GEDcom files.
Capt. John & Ruth Wilcox. Their daughter, Rhoda Gifford married Joseph Cole. Their son, James Monroe Cole, was my father's grandfather. My father was also named James Monroe Cole.
