My gggrandfather is Hiram(hirem?) Gifford born in 1806 in NY. That is all I know other than he was in Illinois or Canada when my ggrandfather and gaunt Eliza Jane were born. I am trying to find more info on Hiram. My ggrandfather was Henry Gifford. He lived in Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Wyoming and possibly Canada. There is also record of a Mary Gifford Smith Lilly born in Canada in 1829. Maybe Hiram's sister? This is the info I have-maybe it will help.
