Hi Sian, Maybe you can help me with a question I have had for a number of years. Although I know most Gillingham researchers are looking for Yeamans Gillingham branch of the Gillingham’s I am try to trace another branch of the Gillinghams. Although they could be related somehow. Here is the branch I am looking for. William Gillingham who was born 13 Oct 1644 in Charlestowne, Mass. He married Agnes Wadland on 11 Oct 1664 in Charlestowne, Mass. They had two children, that I know of, James born in 1668/1669 and a daughter Elizabeth, not sure of her birth date, but she did marry Thomas Bennett on 9 Dec1686 in Charlestowne, Mass.
Ok so here is my question maybe you can look this up your with your resources. Who was the father of William? I have looked every where but no luck. I am stuck at this moment. I believe I have sent you a GEDCOM file on 4/02/04 so you do have my information. I do have more information to look at and add but nothing on William at this time. William died before Oct 4 1670 as Agnes married Joseph Batcheler on Oct 4 1670. Any help would be appreciated on this matter.
I am also looking for information on a later generation of the Gillinghams. I am looking for information on the father of Betsy Lane that married James Gillingham. James was born on 8 Aug 1770 and married Ruth Little first, after she died he married Betsy Lane, who was born on 9 Feb 1782, I believe in Newbury NH. They were married in 1801 in Newbury. I know Betsy fathers name was John Lane also listed as Capt. John Lane. He was married to Molly Dodge.
What I don’t know is when and where either John or Molly was born or their birth date.
I would really appreciate any help would be appreciated. Pat Sparling
