I am Harold Winfield Gonyou. My descent from the earliest Gonyous is as follows:
Richard Gonyou (died in Kingston in 1821)
Joseph Gonyou (born about 1816 and lived near Erinsville/Tamworth, Ontario)
John Gonyou (moved to Wallaceburg from Erinsville)
Arthur Gonyou
Fred Gonyou
myself

I am just getting back into tracking the family. I am particularly interested in identifying any descendents of John Gonyou, born about 1818, to Richard and Margarette, and who moved to Hastings County in about 1860.
I am also interested in descendents of Alexander Gonyou, born about 1846, who moved to Michigan (probably Detroit). He had a line of descendents in Thunderbay, Ont., but also a couple of children who moved with him or were born in Detroit, but I have no record of any descendents of those.
