I am researching Mary Grieve probably born about 1800 and William Johnstone of about same age.
They had 6 children in Parton, Kirkcudbright. I could not find William and Marys wedding but on the birth certificate of their daughter Mary born 5th March, 1837 it gives parents as William Johnstone, Mary Johnstone M.S.Grieve-Slate Quarry.
Their children are John born March 1824. Jane born August 1827. William Small born January 1831. James born October 1833. Joseph born May 1835 and my gtgtgrandmother Mary born 5th March, 1838.
Mary married Thomas Henderson on 16th August, 1861 at Crossmichael, Kirkcudbright. Thomas's parents were John Henderson and Margaret Smith who married 6th November, 1829 Balmaclellan, Kircudbright.
I cannot seem to learn anything about William Johnstone and Mary Grieve, i.e. their parents, place of birth, birth dates etc.Denise from Preston
