Steve and others:
I see no problem with what he is doing. Isn't that what most of us
do? We query all lists of locals where our ancestors lived (if even for
a short time?)in hopes that someone in those locals will recognize the
name?
I have a line that for 3 generations crossed over the MA and NH
borders like they were walking across the street! A year or two here,
then a year or two there....back and forth. Now how else would I find
out about them if I didn't query both MA and NH mailing lists?
There are always those on these lists that try to find a problem with
the way someone does a query, but in general I find that most on these
lists are helpful. We are all at different levels of research and
knowing where and how to look and we should all help everyone to our
best ability.
