Here birth is not recorded in Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts. The
Genealogical Register of the Framingham Families does not include her, but
it seems likely she is a descendant of Charles STEARNS of Watertown. This
family is covered in depth in Bond's Watertown Families (more than 100
pages of Isaac and Charles Stearns' descendants) but again, he doesn't
carry this list quite far enough.
Charles1 STEARNS married 2) 22 Jun 1654 [Torrey] Rebecca GIBSON of
Cambridge. They were parents of:
Shubael2 STEARNS born Cambridge 20 Sep 1655. His first wife is unknown; he
remarried in 1705. He lived in Lynn. He was father of:
Samuel3 STEARNS, of Sutton and Lynn, d. 20 Dec 1759, married 1) Sarah
WALTON of Marblehead. They were parents of:
Timothy4 STEARNS, b. 17 June 1712, d. bef. 1759. Lived in Leominster. He
married 1) 30 Nov 1737 Elizabeth PERKINS or JENKINS of Wilmington. He
married 2) Dinah ___. One of his children was:
Timothy5 STEARNS, who resided in Reading where his children were born, rem.
to Marlboro NH, settled in Framingham 1778; died 15 Jun 1831. He married,
as his first of 3 wives, Lydia WALTON. They were parents of:
Timothy6 STEARNS, born 14 Sep. 1767, died 02 Feb 1813, cordwainer, who
married in Framingham 3 Sep 1794 Mary LOOK, daughter of John, d. 1827.
Their youngest child was:
Tomothy Look7 STEARNS, b. 17 Sep 1813.
He was not carried forward, but I think he is the best candidate for
Celia's father.
