The question of a microfilm reader came up on another list recently. It was
suggested to check with Real Estate offices. I guess they are not used as
often anymore and many times you can find one sitting in a back closet....

Larry,
Evertons, AGLL and Census Microfilm sell readers, but they aren't
cheap. Of course, price is relative to one's income I guess. Evertons
has fiche/film reader combinations for around $600.00. Prices vary
depending on quality and can go to a couple thousand. Best bet is to
watch for used ones in classy's. I found a fiche reader at a yard sale,
just a few dollars and in good condition. Haven't been as lucky finding
a film reader. Hope that gives you a clue. Check out these sites for
these people and see what they have available.
