I would be much interested in any answers to this problem. I have had the same
difficulty trying to get a birth record for my father, Albert E. Barnes. He
always said that he was born in Somerville, MA in 1878. I have tried both the
state and Somerville City Clerk's office. Both reply that they have no record.
Any suggestions?
