This is what I have. He was the head of the military forces at the
Narragansett battle.

I seem to recall that William Bradford was continuously governor until
he died, in 1657, except for a couple of years in the 1640's when
Edward Winslow was governor and then another guy was governor for a
year or two. Your years might be right, but I didn't think Edward was
governor that often.

I don't ** think ** Josiah, brother of Edward, was ever governor of
Plymouth.

The brother was often referred to as Josiah, Sr (even though he had no
son named Josiah) to distinguish him from his nephew. He always signed
his name Josias.

I have seen several older genealogies at genealogylibrary.com that
have "melted" the uncle/nephew together.

Is there a chronological list of governors of Plymouth on the web
somewhere?
