Subject: Interpretation of Social Security Death Index
Date: Mon, 21 Jun 1999 12:37:34 -0700
Hello List,
I have a social security death index search result from Ancestry.Com. It
lists name, born, died, residence, ssn, and issued. But under "Last Benefit"
it says "(No Location Given)".
According to the description, the index "contains records for those for whom
the lump sum death benefit was paid". So my question is how can the "Last
Benefit" not have a location?
My problem is that the residence listed is Boston, MA but the state doesn't
have a record of the death (by name or SSN). So I have no idea where else to
look.
Thanks for any insight.
