Ebenezer Farnsworth b. abt 1684 at Groton, MA 2nd child
of Matthias Farnsworth Jr. and his wife, Sarah Nutting
dau of John & Sarah Nutting of Groton. John Nutting was
an original proprietor of Groton, MA holding a seventeen
acre right.
Ebenezer Farnsworth m. Apr 17, 1707, Elizabeth Whitney
dau. of Joshua and Abigail (Tarbell) Whitney of Watertown
She was b. abt 1686. They owned the covenant Sep 19,
1708. She united with the church Apr 6, 1718 and he did
so on Mar 3, 1724.

Hobart, Jr. and grandaughter of Rev. Gershom Hobart
longtime minister of the church of Groton, MA. This
Lydia Nutting was dau of James and Lydia (Longley)
Nutting; and Lydia was dau of William and Joanna
(Goffe) Longley; Joanna Goffe was sister to Thomas
Goffe, a London merchant, and for some time Deputy
Governor of the MBC in London, before it was brought
over to America and who declined the office in order
that a governor should be named who could go with the
Company.
William Farnsworth was a volunteer in the expedition
sent by the colonial authorities against the French
in Louisburg in 1745 and lost his life there. He
had resided at Pepperell, MA. His wife, Ruth was b.
Nov 8, 1714 and d. Dec 1814 aged 100 years, one month
and four days.

He d. 1763 and she m. (2) Jonathan Lawrence b. 1725
d. 1806. She d. 1805. She had 4 Tarbell children
and two Lawrence children.
