Subject: STRATTON MA Marriage Look Ups 1633-1850
Date: Mon, 6 Sep 1999 09:30:10 EDT
I'm looking for the spouse of Richard Stratton; all I know is about his
father and sons. Richard was settled in Watertown as early as 1647...if his
marriage records can't be found I would like to exchange information with
Watertown Massachusetts STRATTON researchers. Richard's parents Samuel and
Alice Stratton came to Watertown Massachusetts with sons Samuel and John and
richard came later. Samuel and Alice Stratton were written about standing up
for a witch in Watertown. Massachusetts.. later generations in my line were
written about in HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF PRINCETON IN THE COUNTY OF WORCESTOR
AND COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
by FRANCIS EVERETT BLAKE
VOL II GENEALOGIES PRINCETON PUBLISHED BY THE TOWN 1915
I've never seen this work; is it still in print? supposedly on
pages 270-3 SAMUEL STRATTON is mentioned and I'd like to know if the spouses
of either Samuel 1 Alice _?_, Richard 2 ? or Samuel 3 ? are mentioned...
my name (before marriage) Diane Gibbs Stratton
now Diane Gibbs Stratton Gambrell
My father was born in Rutland Vermont in 1920; his mother was Clara
Belle (Williams) Bowen; his father Hiram Asa (HIRAM, , CALVIN E, AMOS,
ISAAC, JABEZ, JABEZ, SAMUEL, RICHARD, SAMUEL) STRATTON; I am using
secondary sources for this line as I am the only southern branch on this
MA VT SC family tree and I am looking for verification of my sources; these
are
1. A BOOK OF STRATTONS
A COLLECTION OF RECORDS OF THE DESCENDANTS OF THE EARLY COLONIAL
STRATTONS IN AMERICA FROM THE FIFTH GENERATION TO THE PRESENT DAY
COMPILED BY HARRIET RUSSELL STRATTON
2. Swans' Early Families of Rutland Vermont
3. Blake's BOOK HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF PRINCETON IN THE COUNTY OF
WORCESTOR AND COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
Have these works been updated? revised or ? corrected? are used copies
available?
Randi<> what sort of information am I lacking for a look-up
from your database?
