You can also get certs directly from the Town Clerk- for Clinton and
Fitchburg- go to Worcester GenWEb

Prices are different for each town, but usually cheaper than getting it
from the state or a private company.
If you really don't need a cert, but only a date, Town Clerks (for the
smaller towns especially) will usually give that info over the phone, if
you have a name and apporximate date. You can also obtain info from the
town/city Historical Society.
Two other sources of dates and other info is to 1. post your query to this
list, or 2.check out the lookup page of the Worcester GenWeb.
