In Albuquerque, we had blackouts because of Kirtland Air Force Base. My mom
wouldn't take my white curtains down, so I would do it after they went to
bed. Nance

Hello, Not only the coastal were affected with blackouts. I live in
the Reno-Sparks area of Nevada (not a coastal area :) and I remember the
sirens, wardens and blackouts. In our case, I believe it was because
Sparks was and still is "railroad town" and an important exchange
point. Military men guarded all gates to the "yard" and my Dad, who was
a Locomotive Engineer, was scrutinized every time he went to
work-----checked he lunch too. Margaret in NV
