I am researching the Brackett line from ME, NH, & MA. Does Pope give any
reference to this name? I am looking for
any info in addition to that which I get from the Brackett Genealogy. From
someone else I have reference to JAMES THOMPSON/ female BRACKETT marriage -
no date and not in my references. Also have C BRACKETT/EMELINE THOMPSON,
also no date. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Charles Henry Pope's "Pioneers of Massachusetts: says this:

BRACKETT, BROCKET

Peter, Braintree, had land grant for 12 heads 24 (12) 1639-40; frm. May
10, 1643. Deputy and magistrate. He deposed May 10, 1673, age 64 years.
Wife Pricilla. He m. # 2, Mary, widow of Nathaniel Williams.
Children on record:
John, b. 30 (9) 1641
Joseph, b. 13 (8) 1642 - d. 24 (11) 1666
Hannah, d. 15 (4) 1657
Mary, d. 12 (11) 1660

From the will of his son John, prob. Jan. 30, 1667, we get these items:
sister Upham, bro. Cooke, mother Williams' 5 children, bro. Twelves, bro.
Nathaniel Renolds, bro. Nathaniel Brackett, sister Sarah Brackett.

(10) 1641; frm. May 25, 1636. Deacon, deputy, magistrate, captain. He
deposed 2 July, 1668, age 56 years. Wife Alice d. 3 Nov. 1690, age 76.

Hannah, bapt. 4 (11) 1634
Peter and John, bapt. 7 (3) 1637
Rachel, bapt. 3 (9) 1639
Mary, b. 1 (12) 1641
Josiah, B. 8 (3) 1652.

He d. March 3, 1690, age 80. Will prob. Dec. 19, 1690, beq. to wife
Alice, sons John, Peter and James, sons-in-law Simon Crosby and Joseph
Thompson, and their children; Elizabeth and Sarah, children of dec. son
Josiah; son-in-law Joseph Crosby; daus. Hannah Blancher and Rachel Crosby;
gr. ch. Abigail Thompson, and Hannah, dau. of John B.; son James exec/
Houses and lands at Braintree and Billerica
