Recently I purchased a photograph album of 19th century
photographs, know as Carte de Visite photos (CDV). These are
photographs of people on a hard cardboard backing, measuring
about 2" X 3". Almost all of the subject individuals were
identified in writing on the back of the photograph. They
are presented here in the order in which they appeared in
the album. Most of the photos bore names of the studios
where they were taken and also the city and state where
taken. Most were from Massachusetts and Vermont, although
two were from Washington, Iowa.

The surnames were Beals, Bowker, Brown, Burt, Campbell,
Evans, Farrar, Foster, Hale, Harington, Holden, Parks,
Phillips, Upham, and White.
