hello, I have a minimal genealogy of a direct line starting with Mary Stone
and her husband Samuel R. Campbell. I have nothing on Samuel except for his
marriage to Mary Stone and some information on his descendants. Mary Stone
was the daughter of Jesse Stone and Susannah Kendall, from Stone Connections
by Robert H. Stone. he lists Jesse as the son of Jonas Stone and Rebecca
Fletcher and Jonas as the son of Joseph Stone and Mary Prescott.
of these I only have a place for Jonas, which claims he was b. in Groton,
MA. I can find very few Stone's in the History of Groton or Groton vital
records to 1850-I forget which one I looked at-and Jonas isn't among them.
so, if the Stones are from MA (I have yet to find Samuel and Mary in the
census, and all the rest are too early-perhaps Samuel and Mary died before
1850, as well) then can someone please tell me where they are from and
hopefully something regarding Samuel Campbell? I have only been able to
find one census for any of the family, that of the youngest child, Loren E.
Campbell (b. 1837 in New York), in 1870. by then he had moved to Monguagon
twp, Wayne Co., MI, had married a native of Wayne Co, and had a daughter.
where anyone of the family is in 1850 and 1860 is anyone's guess.
I gratefully appreciate any help in finding information on this extended
family.
