a schoolteacher at Littleton, Mass., and taught school in the southern part
of Acton, Mass. 1751-2. He m. 1st Jemina--., who died at Stow, 18 Nov., 1739
(age 26). He m. 2nd at Stowe, 7 March, 1743 Abigail Russell (b. Littleton, 5
March, 1727, dau. of Nathaniel & Marah Russell). He died at Littleton, Mass.
26 Sept., 1794, (age 80 years).

At the first town meeting, John Hadley was apptd to the grand jury, and
filled places of trust for a long time. He was a selectman in 1796 and 1797
and one of the committee to find the centre of the town and aplace for a
public building in 1798.

Amos Hadley, brother of Jonas Hadley was sent back to Westford, MA in 1804 to
be supported by the town, as he was in some way disabled due to lameness and
unable to work.

in Captain Joshua Parker's Company,
in the Tenth Regiment of Foot commanded by Col Prescott.

Nov. 26, 1770. A town way, beginning at Groton road about one quarter of a
mile from Abner Kent's dwelling house
thence southerly and westerly to a little white oak by the dugway near the
bridge thence over the bridge by Ebenezer
Hadley's and John Hadley's to Littleton line. This began at Miner's corner
and ran over the brook to the farm of Joseph
Prescott and to the town line. (Town Roads)
