Second: Does anyone have any idea how I can obtain a birth certificate and a
marriage certificate for my sisters mother in law. She was the daughter of a
British Police Officer (we have been told) who lived and worked in India. I
located her birth and marriage on IGI LDS site. Both places, birth and
marriage, are now considered to be Pakistan. Do you think the British took
their records with them when they pulled out, I know that they kept
themselves separate from the native population so I presume they kept
separate records also. Does anyone know the answer. I have posted this on
all the lists that I subscribe to, I know one of you "old pros" out there
will know just what I need to do. Thanks, Dorothy in Sunny Calif.
