Joseph Walker of Brookfield, husbandman, made a will 19 April, 1755, which
was proved Feb., 1756 (Worcester Probate). He named wife Susannah, sons
Reuben, Joseph, John, Oliver; six daughters, Abigail, Priscilla, Lucy, Sarah,
Susannah, Mary, of whom Abigail, Lucy and Priscilla have had their portions.
In the inventory
the west by old line of Devonshire street 73 feet, and south by Water street
Could this be an uncle of your Joseph? Or, could he have married twice?
Also, on the spelling of her name watch for Whitcher, Whittier, etc. they
may have mangled the spelling in her last name.
There was an early Walker family in the 1600s in the early settlement of
Sudbury MA. That would have placed Brookfield about 30 miles from the area
