I have looked in my Shumway book (Genealogy of the Shumway Family in the
United States of America, Asahel Adams Shumway, York, Pennsylvania,1909,
reprinted 1972.)
It does say: (pages 45-6)
Charlotte (Paul 6, Abner 5, Oliver 4, Oliver 3, Pater 2, Peter 1), b. Apr.
29, 1805, d. Apr. 25, 1878: married Enos Smith Dec. 25, 1826: he was born
July 8, in Hancock, Mass., d. Apr 18, 1882; Children,
Alexander, b. Dec. 16, 1828
Anne Jane, b. Nov. 28, 1831
Maria, b. Oct.23, 1832, d. May 18, 1875
Angeline, b. Dec. 11, 1834
Louisa, b. Apr. 14, 1837
Lydia, b. May 19, 1839
The genealogy does not go any farther with this line. David is not listed as
a child of this couple, but that doesn't mean he wasn't!
Searching wills and property deeds of all concerned might help.
