Hello,

Perhaps you already know of this record... but if not, it looks like it
could be a great resource for Springfield, MA and vicinity.

During the years 1827 to 1882, the midwife, E. G. Ufford, was active in
the vicinity of Springfield, MA. Her records were kept and numbered in
chronological order. She listed the father's name and town and the
child's date of birth and sex. The microfilm of the original handwritten
journal is located in the archives of the Genealogy and Local History
Department of The City Library of Springfield, MA., 220 State Street,
Springfield, MA. 01103.
